Restaurant industry dream team and long-time friends, Larry Mindel of Il Fornaio fame and acclaimed Bay Area Chef Peter McNee recently teamed up to open Convivo along Santa Barbara’s beautiful waterfront. Chef McNee claims “Nomad Italian” as the heart and soul of his inspiration, but many of the dishes are liberally infused with the bounty of local seafood and flavors unique to the Central Coast region. Sharing happens organically at Convivo, as menu offerings include dishes served family style - house made pasta, wood-fired pizza and roasted meats, as well as a delectable selection of shareable Cicchetti - small plates filled with bite-sized fare - all, encourage passing the plates around the table.
General Manager Larry Nobles has established an impressive mixology program featuring hand-crafted artisanal cocktails, like The Paper Plane - a perfect blend of top-shelf bourbon, amaro and lemon verbena. An extensive wine list including wines on tap primarily from Santa Barbara’s AVAs, and a selection of local brews further enhance the world-class experience at Convivo. Indulge in alfresco dining and views of the Channel Islands on the expansive outdoor patio and cozy up next to the fire pit to catch a Pacific Ocean sunset.
While the inspired menu changes seasonally, the top-notch hospitality and convivial atmosphere are served up year round.
